Lough Curra Walk is a linear route which brings walkers to the highest lake in the Galtees via the Old Ice Road.
Signposted from Glencush car park, the route takes in a forest walk, old ruins and open moorland before reaching the mountain path to the lake.
From the car park follow the forest road to your right until Saunders Lodge (a ruin). Take a right, continuing until you reach a finger post sign. Turn right and go through the stile onto open moorland. Head westwards uphill to the knoll on the mountain ditch. Veer left to get to the path known as the “Old Ice Road” which brings you all the way to Lake Curra. Return via the same route.
