Cycling

On a cycle tour of the Galtee and Knockmealdown region you can explore breathtaking scenery interspersed with hidden gems of culture, heritage and nature. Enjoy a choice of leisurely on road routes over the Vee and through the Glen of Aherlow.

Bring your own bicycle and meander the country roads at your leisure. Maybe follow in the footprint of the famous Sean Kelly from Carrick-on-Suir in County Tipperary,  an Irish former professional road bicycle racer and one of the most successful road cyclists of the 1980s, and one of the finest classics riders of all time.

For the adrenaline junkies the off road Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trail at Kilfinane offers challenges for the experienced mountain bike rider. Over 98 km of designated trails including forest road climbs, tight twisty singletrack with loads of ups and downs, board walk, tight turns and technical rocky bits are guaranteed to leave you smiling. The trails range from the moderate 6 km Greenwood loop to the demanding Castlepook loop, over 50 km in length!
